My Mission - a message from Kengmo

I do not want to come to your community for just a show. I would like to come because I have gained from my Elders, Teachers and international field experiences. I dedicate all of myself during each event. My intent is to present a powerful sharing that will positively impact and enhance communication, cohabitation, respect, happiness and unconditional love among children, young people, adults, and elders.

One of my most important goals is to build or strengthen some common bridges between cultures and people, so that community members can gain a wider vision of a beautiful and highly diverse world; and thereby realize the uniqueness of self and others. I do my best to serve as an open window through which community members can see Central Africa and the African continent from a different perspective, the one highly enriching but yet almost never shown or talked about by the media and politicians.

I work hard and go back to Cameroon twice a year to learn more from my homeland and my Elders so that I can remain the DOOR that leads to open mind, understanding, forgiveness, mutual respect and peace. This philosophy and way of life form the soil on which my music, dance and stories are deeply rooted. One of the most important lessons I have always enjoyed learning in the different parts of the world where I have been fortunate to be invited for my work, is HOW SIMILAR WE ALL ARE, even though we always seem to be somewhat different.

Love and Respect, Kengmo
